How the app is built

• SOS

  The SOS request is sent over HTTP with retries and survives the app being closed. It does not depend on a live connection.

• Incidents are recorded first

  We save the incident before sending any notification, so nothing is lost if a notification fails.

• Consent-based location

  Location is never recorded without an active trip and your consent.

• Two-sided audio consent

  Drivers have privacy rights too. Audio needs consent from both rider and driver.

• Tamper-evident records

  Trip events and admin audit logs can never be edited or deleted.

• POPIA and data residency

  Personal data is encrypted at rest and production data is hosted in South Africa (AWS af-south-1).
